OutSystems is an enterprise low-code platform: visual modeling, its Mentor AI, and governed deployments for large IT teams. Luna Park is a visual IDE for full-stack web apps, compiled to Vue and Node.js code you host anywhere, at a fixed price.

- **Public pricing.** Free or Pro, with prices on the website.
- **Standard code.** Vue and Node.js you can run without Luna Park.
- **Start today.** Open the editor in your browser, with no setup.

## Example: a waitlist form

Visitors enter their name, email, and favorite ride, and get a ticket number.

::: columns
### Luna Park

1. Place the fields and a button, each field bound to a variable.
2. On click, a graph sends the variables to a backend route and shows the ticket.
3. The route inserts a row in the `Waitlist` table and returns its id.

---

### OutSystems

1. Create a `WaitlistEntry` entity with an auto-number id.
2. Add a screen with a form bound to a local variable.
3. On save, a client action validates the form and calls a server action that creates the entry.
4. Show the returned id on the screen.

## Code export

Luna Park compiles every project to plain Vue and Node.js, which you download with Pro. OutSystems documents a detach process that turns OutSystems 11 apps into .NET and React code, tied to leaving the platform.

## Other differences

- **Pricing.** OutSystems is priced on quote, from application objects and end users. Luna Park has public, fixed prices, whatever the size of the app or the number of users.
- **Scale of the organization.** OutSystems brings governance, compliance options, and SLAs for large IT departments. Luna Park targets teams that want to move fast and keep standard code.
- **Stack.** Luna Park apps are Vue, Node.js, and [PostgreSQL](/docs/backend-data/database), which any web developer knows.

## Which one to choose?

::: columns
### Luna Park

- You want public, fixed pricing.
- You want standard code from day one.
- You are a team, not an enterprise IT department.

---

### OutSystems

- You need enterprise governance, compliance, and SLAs.
- You need on-premises or sovereign deployment.
- You want a vendor with a long enterprise track record.
:::

## Before switching

- Luna Park has no enterprise governance suite or SLAs today.
- Until [managed hosting](/pricing) launches in late 2026, you [host the backend](/docs/deployment/deployment).
