Replit Agent builds and hosts apps from a conversation: the AI writes the code, provisions a PostgreSQL database, and deploys on Replit. Luna Park also builds with AI, but the result is visual logic you can read and edit without code, compiled to a Vue and Node.js application you host anywhere.

- **Readable logic.** Every change the AI makes is a visual graph.
- **Your AI.** Any provider, a local model, or your own agent.
- **Host anywhere.** Standard Node.js and PostgreSQL on any server.

## At a glance

Both build and run apps with AI. The main differences: what the AI produces, AI costs, and hosting.

|---|---|---|
| **How you build** | Visual editor, with an AI assistant | Conversation with an AI, code workspace |

## Example: a waitlist form

Visitors enter their name, email, and favorite ride, and get a ticket number.

::: columns
### Luna Park

1. Ask Sidekick for the form, or build it yourself.
2. The result is a graph: read the fields, call the route, show the ticket.
3. Sidekick tests it by calling the route and clicking through the preview. Test data is rolled back.

---

### Replit Agent

1. Prompt: "add a waitlist form that saves to the database".
2. Approve the plan. The agent provisions PostgreSQL and writes the form and an API route.
3. Test in the preview, then publish on Replit.

## Code export

Both give you the code. Replit exports the generated project; Luna Park compiles the visual project to Vue and Node.js, so you can keep working visually or take the code.

## Other differences

- **Understanding the app.** With Replit Agent, fixing a bug means reading generated code or prompting again. In Luna Park, [components](/docs/interface/components), [graphs](/docs/visual-scripting/introduction), and [routes](/docs/backend-data/routes) are visual, and the app map shows how they connect.
- **AI costs.** Replit bills the agent by effort, from credits that also pay for hosting. Luna Park uses your own key, a local model, or your coding agent through [MCP](/docs/integrations/ai-agents). Editing without AI is free.
- **Structure.** Luna Park projects keep a fixed [file structure](/docs/workspace/project-files) and types shared by frontend and backend, whatever the AI changes.

## Which one to choose?

::: columns
### Luna Park

- You want to understand and fix your app yourself.
- You want to choose your AI.
- You want to host your app where you want.

---

### Replit Agent

- You want hosting and the database set up for you today.
- You want any language or framework.
- You are comfortable maintaining the generated code.
:::

## Before switching

- Sidekick needs [your own API key or a local model](/docs/workspace/sidekick#connect-an-ai).
- Until [managed hosting](/pricing) launches in late 2026, you [host the backend](/docs/deployment/deployment).
