# How is Luna Park different from other app creators?

Looking for an alternative to **Bubble, WeWeb, FlutterFlow, Retool, Noodl, Lovable, or Bolt**? This page explains how Luna Park differs, with a detailed page for each tool.

## Traditional no-code solutions

Many no-code solutions are also **hosting platforms**: they run your project on their own infrastructure, and part of the price depends on your app's usage.

This is convenient, as there is no server to manage. It also means your app depends on that platform: when it cannot be exported as code, moving elsewhere means rebuilding it.

## Our solution, Luna Park

Luna Park, on the other hand, is a **development environment** (IDE). You pay a fixed amount, regardless of your project. The generated code belongs to you, so you can host it wherever you want without any constraints.

The price does not depend on your app's usage: running your app costs what your own server costs, and you can optimize it like any standard web application.

## The trade-off

Luna Park is a lower-level tool than other no-code solutions. This means it is a bit more complex to learn, but allows you to **do much more** and produces **standard compiled code**.

## Luna Park and popular tools

Each tool makes different choices. The table below sums up the main ones. Each tool has its own page with a detailed comparison.

| | Luna Park | Bubble | WeWeb | FlutterFlow | Webflow | AI app builders |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Main focus** | Full-stack web and native apps | Full-stack web apps | Web apps | Mobile apps | Websites and CMS | Apps generated from prompts |
| **Logic** | Visual scripting, compiled to JavaScript | Workflows | Workflows and formulas | Action flows, custom Dart code | Interactions, custom code | Code written by the AI |
| **Execution** | Generated code | Bubble's engine | WeWeb's workflow engine | Generated Flutter code | Static pages | Generated code |
| **Backend** | Built-in (routes, PostgreSQL, crons) | Built-in | Built-in, or Xano, Supabase... | Firebase or Supabase | CMS only | Supabase or the platform's |
| **Code export** | Full application (Vue + Node.js) | No | Vue frontend (paid plans) | Flutter code (paid plans) | Static HTML/CSS (no CMS) | Yes (React) |
| **Hosting** | Anywhere you want | Bubble only | WeWeb Cloud or self-hosted frontend | Your choice | Webflow | Platform or your choice |
| **Pricing model** | Fixed subscription | Plans + usage (workload units) | Seats + hosting plan per app | Seats | Site + workspace plans | Credits per AI message |
| **Platforms** | Web, PWA, desktop, mobile | Web, mobile | Web, PWA | Mobile first, web, desktop | Web | Mostly web |

:::

* [**Bubble alternative**](./comparison/bubble): Luna Park vs Bubble. Code ownership, hosting, and pricing model make the difference.
* [**WeWeb alternative**](./comparison/weweb): Luna Park vs WeWeb. Both generate Vue code; Luna Park builds the frontend and the backend in one project.
* [**FlutterFlow alternative**](./comparison/flutterflow): Luna Park vs FlutterFlow. Web-first versus mobile-first.
* [**Retool alternative**](./comparison/retool): Luna Park vs Retool. Internal tools on existing data versus complete applications you own.
* [**Noodl alternative**](./comparison/noodl): Luna Park vs Noodl and Fluxscape. Both use node graphs; Luna Park compiles them to code.
* [**Lovable and Bolt alternative**](./comparison/ai-app-builders): Luna Park vs AI app builders. Visual logic versus generated code.
* [**Luna Park vs Webflow**](./comparison/webflow): websites versus applications.

## Where Luna Park is not the best fit

To be fair, other tools are a better pick when:

* you want a **fully managed** platform: Luna Park can deploy your frontend for testing, but you host the backend yourself (see [Self-hosting](../deployment/deployment));
* you need a **large ecosystem** of ready-made templates and plugins today: Luna Park is younger, and its community is smaller;
* you are building a **content website** (blog, landing page) rather than an application;
* you want results in **a few hours** without learning any logic concepts.
