Example: a waitlist form

Visitors enter their name, email, and favorite ride, and get a ticket number.

Luna Park

  1. Place the fields and a button, each field bound to a variable.
  2. On click, a graph sends the variables to a backend route and shows the ticket.
  3. The route inserts a row in the Waitlist table and returns its id.

Mendix

  1. Add a WaitlistEntry entity with an auto-number attribute.
  2. Create a page with a data view on a new entry.
  3. Call a microflow on save: validate, commit, show a confirmation page.
  4. The page displays the ticket number.

Code export

Mendix exports a model package, which runs on Mendix. Luna Park compiles every project to plain Vue and Node.js, which you download with Pro and run without Luna Park.

Other differences

  • Pricing. Mendix bills per app and per user, from €918/month for one app. Luna Park has one fixed license, whatever the number of apps or users.
  • Scale of the organization. Mendix brings governance, long-term support releases, and SAP integration for large companies. Luna Park targets teams that want to move fast and keep standard code.
  • Mobile. Mendix builds offline-first native apps with React Native. Luna Park's mobile apps run the web frontend in a native shell.

Which one to choose?

Luna Park

  • You want a fixed price for all your apps.
  • You want standard code you can run without the vendor.
  • You are a team, not an enterprise IT department.

Mendix

  • You need enterprise governance and support.
  • You run on SAP or need private, sovereign cloud.
  • You need offline-first native mobile apps.

Before switching

Based on Mendix as of October 2026. See mendix.com for current features and prices.
