Example: a waitlist form

Visitors enter their name, email, and favorite ride, and get a ticket number.

Luna Park

  1. Place the fields and a button, each field bound to a variable.
  2. On click, a graph sends the variables to a backend route and shows the ticket.
  3. The route inserts a row in the Waitlist table and returns its id.

Softr

  1. Create a table with an autonumber "Ticket Number" field.
  2. Add a form block connected to the table.
  3. Make it visible to non-logged-in users.
  4. Confirm the submission, or run a workflow.

Code export

Softr apps run on Softr. Luna Park compiles every project to plain Vue and Node.js, which you download with Pro.

Other differences

  • Logic. Softr blocks and workflows cover common portal needs. Luna Park graphs cover what code can do, front and back.
  • Costs. Softr plans include a number of logged-in users, with fees beyond. A Luna Park app costs what its server costs, at any number of users.
  • Design. Luna Park builds your own components, styled with CSS and design tokens.

Which one to choose?

Luna Park

  • Your app needs custom logic.
  • You want to keep the code.
  • You expect many users.

Softr

  • You need a client portal or internal app in hours.
  • Your data lives in Airtable, HubSpot, or Sheets.
  • You have no developers.

Before switching

  • Building with Luna Park takes longer than assembling blocks, and Sidekick shortens it.
  • Until managed hosting launches in late 2026, you host the backend.

Based on Softr as of October 2026. See softr.io for current features and prices.
